Feature Page Drafts

When I first started my feature I created a simple but effective layout as show. I then started to choose which photos i wanted to use and then cut them out in fireworks. I then needed a title and I thought that I didnt want just the artists name so I added a subtitle. I need to add more photos and text.

I then changed the headings font with dafont as i thought this font looked much better. I then added more pictures as well as added all of my text to create my final feature page. I then got critism for what could be improved on my feature and changed it according to the comments that I had recieved.
As you can see I have changed the way the title of the article looks and added links to pages like the persons facebook and twitter page. I think that this is more effective as you can now find out more about the person in question by using these links.

Contents Page Drafts

When I first started to make my contents page I added pictures of celeberaties who I thought where pop idols and would be good to read about in my magazine. I then started to create my title for my contents page I wondered if I shoule keep it the same as the mathead or whether I should change it, however i thought it would look better if it was kept the same. Next I started to think of different coverlines which i thought would attract many readers. I started thinking who is in the pop industry and what has happened in their lives, what could I write about them which could be good stories. I then looked at different magazine contents pages to see what was written in them and how could i make them my own, which is why i added things such as the crosswords and top 20 coats. This brought me to my second draft of my contents page, I looked at it and thought it looked a bit blank and had to think of some other things to make it look alot better. I then had to fill up the space that was still showing so i decided to add a few more pictures and a voucher which some magazines have. This became my final contents page. I then got feedback from my teacher and decided some things had to change to i adjusted them in publisher and my final draft looks like this.

Drafting text/ page layouts

Before i began creating my front cover i made a draft of what it could look like. This was just to tell me where i wanted to put things and what it might look like. I then changed it so that it looked more colourful and presentable and more like an actual magazine then a draft. I then created my final front cover this is what it came out to be

Planning/ sketching page layouts

This was the first rough draft of what my front cover
may look like. It gave me a guess of what my actual
cover might look like when i eventually make it on
the computer.

To test out what im going to do for my final image I used a picture of an animal and got rid of the background as shown above..

Analysing front cover images

I looked at different magazine covers which could help me find out how the image on the cover represents the artist being shown. The top of the pops magazine cover below is showing JLS to be a nice , sweet and innocent by band. With them all smiling it makes them fit in easily with the theme of this magazine, it gives them their pop identity.
